I have a speadsheet which has been extracted from an autocad file and saved as a xlsx. Whilst in the extraction process the itemed list have become mixed up ie;
1.1
2.1
3.2
4.5
6.7
2.1a
2.1b
2.1c
6.7a
Is there a sort function which will allow me to sort these numbers so the above now reads like this? There are over 250 numbers, so its too time consuming if done manually.

2.1b
2.1c
3.2
4.5
6.7a

Sorting A -> Z works just fine in your example.

Did you test it?
It will work if you do it right.
You have to select all data in the column which you want to sort.
Notice my main language is not English.

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.
Remember to desensitize the data.
Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.
