Bubble Chart

Hello,

I have a quick question on bubble charts. There's a fixed bubble chart on my attachment created with shapes in excel for reference. How can I get the bubble chart created through excel graphs to look more like the shaped version.

1.) Category name on the Y axis (Purchase Service, Inventory, etc)
2.) Get the placement from the shapes (effort of behavior) to show up on the excel generated graph. I put scores for effort/change so I can plot it on the Y axis, I'm just not sure if it will work.

Hi Tennisbuck,

To answer 1.)

Click on the chart,
Click on tab "Layout",
Click on "Data Labels", "Center" (or whatever works for you),
Click again on "Data Labels", "More data labels options", under "Label contains", check "X value"

About question 2.)
IMHO it should work. Not sure either though

Add a chart and use the select data dialog to add series.
Series name will be the combination of text and values.

I can see the x values data but not the Y.
For now I used money value but that is probably not how you want things vertically positioned.

This looks great Andy and Dourpil! I have 2 follow up questions:

1.) How do I change the size of the bubble according to dollars? Do I just put the range of dollar values in?
2.) Would it be possible to change the color of the bubble according to service (Freight, Inventory, etc)?

Via the Select Data dialog use dollar value instead of static ={1} to control bubble sizes.

You may find it easier to manually change bubble colours to match service group because the normal way would be to have a series for each colour but this mean you then need to link data labels to cells inorder to get unique descriptive text assigned to each bubble.
