spread revenue equally over 6 or 12 months depending on which product is sold

    Hello,
A newbie here. I thought my question would be addressed but I have not been able to find it in any searches. I hope that does not mean I am approaching it wrong. Any and all help and/or ideas will be greatly appreciated. We have 5 - six month programs and five - 12 month programs we are going to sell; each have a different price. I Want to insert number of projected sales manually for each month and then have excel distribute/spread revenue evenly over six or twelve months into a separate set of cells. First payment would be received at time of sale. I have attached a basic sample to try to explain it better. Thank you
    Mike

Re: spread revenue equally over 6 or 12 months depending on which product is sold

Thanks for the quick response. Sorry, I guess I did not explain well enough. I would like the Total payment (e.g, $3,500) spread over the length of the program (e.g., 6 months). So if a 6 month program was sold in August, 1/6th of the Total payment would be added to the August Revenue cell, 1/6th of the Total Payment would be added to the September payment, 1/6th to the September, etc. For a 12 month program 1/12th of the total payment would be applied to current month plus next 11 months. Thanks for getting me to clarify

I think you can do that with Macros (VBA), If you know nothing about it ... >>> http://www.excelforum.com/excel-prog...materials.html
It's really a customized (need to think more) job...So i'm afraid I can't do it now.
