Multiple IF THEN ELSE statements from two cells

EDIT, the title should say multiple cells, not two cells.

    Hello,

I need help with a massive IF THEN ELSE situations, I've done a max of two IF THEN ELSE statements but nothing this massive and I'm beginning to think it just can't be done except manually.

I've attached a weight example spreadsheet. There are five columns, Starting Weight, Mid point weight, Midpoint weight part 2, ending weight and what I need to figure out are the Next Actions, which is the last column.

Here are the scenarios, which need to go in order from First to Last:
    1. If starting weight is greater than or equal to 200 and end weight is greater than or equal to 200, this should be labeled as One on One
    2. If ending weight is greater than or equal to 200, this should be labeled as Conference Call
    3. If ending weight is greater than starting weight, this should be labeled as Examine
    4. If ending weight is starting weight, this should be labeled as Home Visit
    5. If Midpoint weight is greater than or equal to midpoint weight part 2, this should be labeled as Examine Mid Checkpoint
    6. If there is a decrease in the Midpoint Weight and Midpoint Weight Part 2, this should be labeled as Examine Mid Trainer

Is this possible? Thank you in advance for any help that you can provide!

If starting weight is greater than or equal to 200 and end weight is greater than or equal to 200, this should be labeled as One on One
    =IF (

AND( cell for starting weight > = 200, cell for end weight >=200) , "One on One",
If ending weight is greater than or equal to 200, this should be labeled as Conference Call
IF( cell ending weight >=200, " conference call" ,

If ending weight is greater than starting weight, this should be labeled as Examine
IF( cell for ending weight > cell for starting weight , "Examine",

If ending weight is starting weight, this should be labeled as Home Visit
IF( cell for ending weight = starting weight , "home visit",

If Midpoint weight is greater than or equal to midpoint weight part 2, this should be labeled as Examine Mid Checkpoint
IF( cell for midpoint weight >= cell midpoint weight part 2, "Examine Mid Checkpoint",

If there is a decrease in the Midpoint Weight and Midpoint Weight Part 2, this should be labeled as Examine Mid Trainer
IF( how do you test for a decrease - decrease from what cells , "Examine Mid Trainer", "criteria not met")
    )))))

    so in total

=IF ( AND( cell for starting weight > = 200, cell for end weight > = 200) , "One on One", IF( cell ending weight > = 200, " conference call" , IF( cell for ending weight > cell for starting weight , "Examine",IF( cell for ending weight = starting weight , "home visit", IF( cell for midpoint weight > = cell midpoint weight part 2, "Examine Mid Checkpoint", IF( how do you test for a decrease - decrease from what cells , "Examine Mid Trainer", "criteria not met"))))))

Just the last rule not sure about

Re: Multiple IF THEN ELSE statements from two cells

Wayne, with regards to the last rule, would IF THE cell for midpoint weight is less than the cell for midpoint weight part 2 work? Since the first cell is less than the second cell, that should indicate a decrease right?

Also, I forgot one last condition, which should be the last test. IF there is a decrease from start to end in midpoint weight and midpoint weight part 2, but no decrease in the starting weight and ending weight, this should also be "Examine Mid Checkpoint." Is there a way to work this in there?

I promise this is the last one!

    Thank you both! Life savers!

Re: Multiple IF THEN ELSE statements from two cells

would IF THE cell for midpoint weight is less than the cell for midpoint weight part 2 work?
you can make that a rule - but only you know if it will give the correct result for what you are trying to do

=IF ( AND( cell for starting weight > = 200, cell for end weight > = 200) , "One on One", IF( cell ending weight > = 200, " conference call" , IF( cell for ending weight > cell for starting weight , "Examine",IF( cell for ending weight = starting weight , "home visit", IF( cell for midpoint weight > = cell midpoint weight part 2, "Examine Mid Checkpoint", IF( cell for midpoint weight < cell for midpoint weight part 2 , "Examine Mid Trainer", "criteria not met"))))))

decrease from start to end in midpoint weight and midpoint weight part 2, but no decrease in the starting weight and ending weight,
you can add an OR and an AND

but not sure how to express what you have said there in maths terms
