Using ANSI codes in Custom Number Formats

I am trying to put superscript numbers in my spread sheet so that they won't affect the formulas. I thought using Custom Number Formats would do the trick and it does work fine for ANSI codes up to 126 which is the tilde ~.

I want to use superscript 1, 2, and 3 or the dagger and double dagger. However when I enter those ANSI codes I get various other symbols and letters. Does anyone know if there is an ANSI chart for the Excel number formats?

    Thanks

    Tom

Did you mean ASCII? I hope you meant ASCII.

    ² - Alt+0178
    ³ - Alt+0179
    † - Alt+0134
