    Smile Golf Leaderboard

Hi ..... got a bit of a problem that needs solved please

Golf Tournament leader board......... trying to place better scores to position golfers at the top
bearing in mind the handicap system that needs to be implemented. I have included an example for you to look at the
problem I face. The high lighted areas are the confusing numbers.

Players are getting the same scores but have best inward back 9 holes so they have played better and should take the
next higher position in the tournament.

Players can also have the same inward results ...so goes to the outward 9 holes for better placement in the tournament.

Further to this if the same numbers occur on the card hole by hole is then implemented to sort the score but that can be done
from the cards but is seldom needed so forget that.

Your help on this would be very appreciated........

    thanks

Are you just talking about a sort? Highlight all data, click DATA, SORT, then Sort by Overall Net Score, add another level, sort by Inward 9, add another level, sort by Outward 9 ??? You didn't explain how the handicap fits in....

    Thanks for the reply.........

Yes just sorting the Nett score is simple but adjusting the same scores for position is a bit tricky...... forget the handicap

As the table stands...shooting the same scores Davy has shot a better inward 9 holes so he should be in position 4 with a 35 and Bryan in position 5 with a 37 score.

Douglas and Bobby shot exact same scores on the inward 9 but on the outward 9 Bobby had a better score with a 38 to Douglas 43
So Bobby moves to position 7 and Douglas to position 8 in the tournament.

This is the problem ..........? Like a tied position but to sort by the inward 9 or column G throws the table out and the same with column F

The only thing I can think of is to high light the scores of these tied players and cut and paste them above or below each other
as they occur when the cards come in. But I just wondered if there was a formula to adjust this through excel.

Entrants to the competitions could be as high as 150.....so this problem is going to arise on occasions.

Sorry, mate, I do not understand golf at all, but see if this solves your dilemma.

Just select the whole table, including column names, excluding row numbers and cilck the sort button to see my options.
