    IF function - two outcomes

    Hi experts

    I have a spreadsheet where users are asked to enter a date in column F. They then enter a number in column H.

    If the number in column H is >3 then the cell in column F will say 'Not applicable'. I need to extend this formula so that if the number in column H <4 and the user has not entered a date in column F the cell will say 'Date required'. I will then cf the cell so that it turns red alerting the user.

    This is the formula I have already;

    =IF(H37>3,"Not applicable","")

    Do I need an IFS or AND in there?

    Thanks in advance

    This isn't perfect, but if the number is in H1 and the date is in F1, you could use:

    This formula would need to go into a different cell than where you want the date to be entered, though.

    Thanks Ezzard but still not working.

    The formula I already have is within column F which is the same as the destination cell and it's working for that one - I just can't seem to add another IF in there.

    Could you attach an example of your worksheet?

    Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.
