Conditional Formatting: Highlight cells column C:F that are less than column B

data in each row is independent of other rows

    a___b___c____d____e___f
    abe $5__$1*__$2*__$6__$3*
    Ben $2
    Carl $7
    Dave $4

I want to highlight all the values in C1:F1 that are less than B1 without having to create a new formatting rule for each new row.
In this example, the asterisks indicate the cells that would be highlighted. What formula do I use?

Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.
