    Volunteer Workbook Catastrophe

I have to come up with a sheet to track volunteer work conducted by my coworkers, and I'm running into quite a few problems. I'm hoping you all can help me refine my process and maybe answer some of my questions along the way.

Here is an example of what I'm currently working with: Volunteer Test.xlsx
If you can open the file you'll notice that not only is it completely inefficent, but a lot of it is broken (e.g., the numbers in F and G on the Metrics tab are manually entered, etc.).

Originally I was going to post the various problems I was having, and try to fix it piece by piece, but I'm starting to think that the root cause of my problems is the Roster. If I can find a better way to track that, I may be able to solve additional questions on my own. So please feel free to improve upon what I have or take it in a completely new direction.

    Here is what I need:
    - Track the volunteer work (hours, # of beneficaries, # of events) of a 70+ person roster
    - Gather and display metrics from the volunteer work and break it down by: Title, Department, and/or those required to volunteer vs those not (Column I on Roster tab)

    Any help is appreciated!

How about using a Pivot Table? See attached. Does that work for you?

EDIT: Just looked at the other sheet. Looks like you already have a PT with the information.

I appreciate the suggestion anyway. I do really like the pivot table for gathering metrics. I think my biggest issue is really just trying to figure out how to enter data efficiently. Any chance you have suggestions to help me out with that?
