    drop down lists

I am creating a drop down list for staff regarding client progress and I want it to look like this

    HEADING 1
    Sub Heading
    Goal

    drop down list 1
    drop down list 1
    drop down list1
    etc...

    HEADING 2
    Sub Heading
    Goal

    drop down list 2
    drop down list 2
    drop down list 2
    etc.

The problem I am having is that drop down list is entered and as soon I entered different goals for drop list 2 it changes all of list 1.....

Is there also a way to make my headings, sub heading and goal heading not be a drop down list....is there some way to lock them as headings??

I hope this makes sense and that someone can help me please!!

    Thanks

    Re: drop down lists

To eliminate just guessing please attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

    Re: drop down lists

I have done a little work to get you going. I have created dropdown lists for column A but have only filled in part of the Data Validation. Note that the lists are triggered by a reference to a cell in column A. This value is then looked up in the table on Sheet1 to translate the cell contents to a legal range name. This name is then used in the Data Validation. The dependant lists for Activity will reference the appropriate cells in column A.

You are going to have a lot of lists so be prepared.
