Sequential number for purchase orders

Hi everyone

I am pretty sure this will have been asked before but I am not able to find anything in the forum search.

I am trying to create a purchase order that will generate the next number each time I complete an order but I cannot work out how to make the numbers generate.

Could anyone please help me with this.

You need to create a master document.

Then you can create a new copy for each PO.

The PO Number will exist somewhere on your Master.

So you increment the PO number in the Master before you create the copy.

BUT: You must save the master as soon as the PO number is incremented and before the Copy is created.

So even if your pc crashes you cannot possibly end up with two PO's with the same number.
