How to sort a group of data

    Hi guys,

I tried googling this but can't find a solution to what I'm looking for. Not sure if I can correctly name the sorting that I want to do. I am creating a case log, which will list down computer problems in my office over the coming months/years. Then I'd like to sort it either by category (PC/printer/server/lan etc) or by date.

Best if I attach a sample file for you guys to have a look. The fields are all over the place, sorry if it's a bit messy. Feel free to place the appropriate fields wherever you think best. I've created 4 different pc problems, so i'd like to sort them either by category or creation date.

I've created a dropdown list for the Category part, not sure if that'll help.

Any help appreciated guys. Thank you very much!

Data should be properly arranged before sorting or else the relative data may lost.

I have arranged the data in the excel and provided you a summary sheet to manage the data.

    Hi ursanil

Hey thanks a lot for the help. I never thought of doing it that way. Btw what does TAT stand for?

    -edit-
and where did you hide the Category list? I thought in order to create the dropdown list you have to key in the names somewhere?

    Glad to help you

TAT is for time taken to solve the issues. Just to track who has taken how many days to solve the problem and which kind of problem taken more days to solve.

The sheet is hidden, right click on any sheet name and unhide the sheet3 where data is avilable
