    Spreadsheet links to other data

    Hi

Is there a way to look at what external links there are in a workbook.

Each time I open this particular report I have built it tells me 'this workbook contains links to other stat sources', when I click update it takes me to a file to look up the external link, I can see what file it is coming from(I think) but no way to see where or what within that link it is coming from.

Any help would be great, it is annoying me!!

    Thanks

I'm not sure what information you are looking for, but, if it is available in Excel, I would expect it to be accessible from the existing connections command http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...748.aspx?CTT=1

Yes I have had a look through that already and it didn't shed any light for me, I could not find any reference to finding what the links were in my report.

All I want to be able to do is stop those links linking, but before I do this I want to see if doing this will have any impact.

I have had a thought that maybe the external link could be caused by importing data, every time I import data I just click refresh and it takes my direct to the file where I want to import from, I click on the excel spreadsheet I want imported and it goes straight in. Maybe this could be the link?

When you right click on the data range, is there an "edit data import" or "edit data range properties" option? Do either of those dialogs contain the information you are looking for?
