    For xl2003 see this article.
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/ex...329.aspx?CTT=1

If you provide more detail about what you are actually doing we can provide more specific answers.

Re: is it possible to have 2 different charts in one chart

I have a chart in excel that I have some financial data for some companies, some of data, for example cash flows are from July 2014 to June 2015 and each month has one data point, also there is another series that is related to a 3 months period, the data for that period is daily for the first 10 days of September and from that time to end of November they are weekly, how can I depict the second series in a chart that is ranged from July to June and then have a second series that starts from September(or August) and finishes in the November? Something like black line.image001.jpg In fact I have posted it in another forum have not received any response yet.

Your post does not comply with Rule 8 of our Forum RULES. Do not crosspost your question on multiple forums without including links here to the other threads on other forums.

Cross-posting is when you post the same question in other forums on the web. The last thing you want to do is waste people's time working on an issue you have already resolved elsewhere. We prefer that you not cross-post at all, but if you do (and it's unlikely to go unnoticed), you MUST provide a link (copy the url from the address bar in your browser) to the cross-post.

Expect cross-posted questions without a link to be closed and a message will be posted by the moderator explaining why. We are here to help so help us to help you!

Read this to understand why we ask you to do this, and then please edit your first post to include links to any and all cross-posts in any other forums (not just this site).

If all your data sets have dates and values use xy-scatter to plot all series.

FYI, It's much more helpful to post example workbook rather than picture.

If it's another forum site you will need to deal with their admin.

    ??? don't understand.

I assumed you had asked the same question in 2 places. If you want to close the other thread that is up to you but you will need to deal with the admin people on that site in order to get it closed. Or you could just do what it says in the message about cross posting, which is to include links to both articles.

As suggested, use xy-scatter and NOT line chart. By doing so you can define data range for each series.

Re: is it possible to have 2 different charts in one chart

No, it's easy enough to do with a line chart, as I answered in the other forum.

Set up the data like this:

In the first column put the dates for your monthly data, then in the next few columns (as many as you need) put the monthly Y values.

Then in the first column, below the monthly dates, put the dates for the daily and weekly data. Don't bother sorting it, the chart will work out fine. In the column after the monthly Y values, and lined up with the daily and weekly dates, put the daily and weekly Y values.

Your data range will include empty cells, but that's not a problem.

Now select the data and create your chart. You will see some gaps in the lines, where the daily and weekly dates fall between monthly dates, but again, it's not a problem. Right click on the chart, choose Select Data. Click the Empty and Hidden Cells button in the bottom left of the dialog, and select the option to connect empty points with a line.
