So I'm having a problem I can't find a work around for. I have a graph in powerpoint slide. I want to be able to right click "edit data" place a formula in the value column so that the graph will reference the proper cells from the the excel spreadsheet to populate the info on the graph.
After I close the spreadsheet that correlates with the graph I have the following 2 problems.
1) When I change the numbers in the excel spreadsheet it doesn't change the powerpoint graph as I hoped it would.
2) When I return to my powerpoint and click "edit data" it gives me the "opening in excel" prompt but it just hangs and never opens.
A quick google search and I found a few posts about uninstalling and installing but I refuse to believe that's the only available solution.
Can anyone explain to me why this is?
Update: I found a work around to make it work, I know it's not the best way but it gets the job done. I'd share my solution but this was a very elementary problem and I know the solution is easy and even though my solution probably isn't the most efficient way to do it i'll keep it to myself bc this community doesn't seem to be too helpful. 2nd post and no help at all from anyone, just a bunch of views. So either this place is full of noobs who can't contribute or its full of arrogant self proclaimed kknow it alls who scuff at simple questions like mine.. from what I've seen in the forums i'd say its the ladder... smh.
