Vlookup formula showing as text in cell

I have the following formula:

=VLOOKUP(A2,Sheet1!A:B,2,FALSE)

It is showing up as text in the cell it's in. Any ideas? I have changed the format of the cell it's in to be numeric, accounting, general, and still not change with a result.

I copied the formula down and still the same in all the cells. I changed the formating of the cells in the column that I want the formula in to be numeric, accounting, general and then placed the formula in it. Still no results of data from Sheet1, only giving me the formula in the cell.

If it's showing up as text then its text

Locate the cell in the VLOOKUP
what does

=ISNUMBER(cell)

result in?

To turn it into a number try

=VLOOKUP(A2,Sheet1!A:B,2,FALSE)+0
