link data menu content to another cell

Is it possible to have the data that was chosen in a pull down menu link and place the value chosen into another cell?

I have attached an excel doc example....I am trying to get the pull down menu from the A column, to link to the B column...So if I choose a quantity of 3 from drop down menu in A2, I want a 3 to show up in B2...does that make sense?

I had to adjust the dropdown reference to omit the blank cell (N7), and then just added a link to B2.

how do you add a link to a cell, like you did for B2?

Right click on the cell with the dropdown and click on "format object" (or whatever the last option is). The tab with the reference to the dropdown list has another reference box where you can link it to column B.

ok, thank you! i think just one last question...sorry, i do not work a lot with excel. How did you create the drop down reference box on N7?
