Lock formating on specific columns

Hi Guys,

Is there a way to lock the formatting of a particular column? I am trying to have a date planner, but I want to lock the weekends off as a colour, as they will never change ever until the world explodes, yet I would like to be able to shift blocks of activity around them. Is this possible?

You can protect the sheet, and lock the cells. A locked cell by definition cannot have its content change, and there are options to also prevent its formatting from being changed. However, if you want to lock format but allow changes to content, I don't know a way to do that.
