    Vlookup from Table

I am trying to lookup a certain value that matches in Column A from a table on one worksheet, have a list to chose from and then place the selected item (and row) into another sheet.

    Example

Blue Mantle Estimate WS (worksheet1) Conversion_Work Items to Est (worksheet with table)

Column A5 = 02 Lookup all rows that have "02" in Column A
Show list of all rows that contain "02" in column A
Make selection from list and add selected row to
    row 5 in worksheet

I am not sure if I need to have a table on the Blue Mantle Estimate WS that would show the list or what. I now this is probably is very easy.

I am using a Mac if that makes any difference.

I have also included my workbook. Thank you.

    Tim

It would probably help if you included a few sample answers in yoyr table?

    Re: Vlookup from Table

This is my interpretation of your problem and my solution.

As I understand it, you want to be able to pull the records from the Conversion Work Items to Est to the Blue Mantle Estimate WS for all records that match the value in A6 of the Blue Mantle Estimate WS. Rather than enter the value in A6, I created a Data Validation List in A2 for the value.

    Re: Vlookup from Table

That is part of the idea, but I would like to select only one item from that list of "Wall and Ceiling Finishes" and apply it to the worksheet as you did..........I just don't want the entire list dumped onto the spreadsheet. I am starting to wonder if I am looking for a pivot table or a combination of pivot table and validation lists.

    Re: Vlookup from Table

You can delete the contents of row 4 of Blue Mantle Estimate WS and then click on cell A5 then on the Data tab click on the Filter button. This will allow you to further filter the records to get the one that you want.
