    Attendance to identify the absent date

    Good day guys, I need your help in my attendance log to scan all start date and end date and result the absent date
    example

    Name--------------Start date-----------------End date

    John---------------june 1 2014---------------june 15 2014
    John---------------june 17 2014--------------june 30 2014
    edward------------june 1 2014--------------june 7 2014
    edward------------june 10 2014-------------june 30 2014





    Result

    John absent - ----June 16 2014
    edward absent - ---- June 8 2014 and june 9 2014


    I have a thousand data and its hard to do it manually. I attach the sample - hope someone can help me

    Hi junbone,
    Welcome to the Forum.

    If you are open to a VBA solution to achieve this, try this.....
    Please Login or Register  to view this content.
    You can change the range reference codes in red as per your actual workbook.

    To apply this code to workbook follow these steps.
    1. Open your workbook
    2. Press Alt+F11 to open VBA Editor
    3. Click on Insert --> Module
    4. Paste the above code in opened code window.
    5. Close VBA Editor
    6. Save your workbook as Excel Macro-Enabled Workbook
    7. To Run the code, Press Alt+F8 to open Macro Window.
    8. Select Attendance macro from the macro list
    9. Run
    Please find the attached sheet and click on the Green Button to get the desired output.

    WOW, I was amazed by your expertise in VBA, I really this is what i need. unfortunately i am not expert and I dont know how to apply it in my real file , can you put explanation in the code?

    If you are not familiar with VBA, in that case you should go with the formula suggested by Vikas. Because to change the code as per your requirement requires some basic understanding of VBA.
