    Strict Parse Error

Got this from Fannie Mae and they claim the problem is user error so they are not helpful. If this is the wrong forum I apologize, I been searching for this error and I can't seem to find much about it.

XML PARSE ERROR: Missing whitespace between attributes
Error occurs at or below this element stack:

If I open it with notepad++ top portion of the doc says

You haven't shown enough to diagnose the error. Can you provide the entire XML file?

Not on a public forum sorry, the identity of people, names, phone # other various info would be compromised. :/ I can happily copy and paste anything though. This is an excel sheet, not an XML file

    Re: Strict Parse Error

Excel 2007 and forward is stored as a zip file containing XML files, the code you showed above is XML, and the error you showed is an XML error. So, yes, it's an XML file even if it looks like an Excel file to you.

Can you paste more of the file? The error is a very simple one. It means that an XML tag has multiple parameters where a space is expected to separate parameters. For example, this is the workbook.xml file from a simple Excel file. Do you see the places where I've put a red X? Those are examples of where a space is required. If the space is missing, you will get an XML parse error. I have never gotten an XML error trying to open an Excel file. It suggests that some software other than Excel may be creating the file and has a bug. It seems very unlikely that this could be user error if you have not tried to edit the XML, and from your response I would say you haven't.

    Re: Strict Parse Error

I'm at the end of the road for this one. The XML error gives no clue as to where the error is and I don't see it in what you've posted. I'm not sure how to continue. Maybe someone with greater Excel XML implementation knowledge can join in. I also suggest you update your thread title to something like "XML parse error opening Excel file" which may attract people with that specific expertise.

yea same boat as me :/ doesn't give you any indication where the error is. We're thinking that our McAfee gateway is altering the file since it places click protect in the xmlns:http area so the chances it is adding/removing something that should be there is good

    Thanks though

Figured it out. Our McAfee gateway is click protecting a link inside the file so it is altering it the code. It is missing a "
