    filtering with the rows intact

following the suggestion of Rioran (here from the forum), I'll use filtering to find cells that contain values written in red.

Question: When I filter one column, the rows don't stay intact (as I expected they would, being a database person). Instead, the filtered values of the column in question are shown side by side with values in other columns that belong to other rows (!!!). Not sure what the idea is behind this behaviour - anyway is it possible to make rows stay together even when I apply a filter on one column?

You have to choose the entire range, click on the filter then filter the one column you need. The rest will follow

Please can you post a sample workbook that exhibits this behaviour. Sounds very unusual.

If it's an Autofilter, I'd expect the entire row to be hidden if it does not meet the criteria.

If it's an Advanced filter with the output on the same worksheet I can understand.
