Define colours in Bar Graphs/Charts

Hello Forum

I have this question on MS Excel 2007

Let us say I'm creating a bar graph. The default color happens to be blue and I can choose colors as below

Is there any way that I can define colors based upon values.? For ex: In this case "sales". The objective is to set color pattern based upon the sales numbers. If the sales numbers meets or exceeds 25000 it should take up a color by default instead of us choosing the color for that particular bar in the graph

Is it feasible? Can I receive some help and inputs on the same?

Kindly let me know if my question makes sense or if I need to put it any better

Thank you for the reply and sharing the reference URL. I went through the steps and came up with the following

The only glaring problem that I am currently facing is highlighted in dark circles. The sales bar does not coordinate with the months. Any inputs on that?

Hi Karthik,

First of all, I find it very difficult looking at Tinypic images - it would be much better if you attached the workbook (or an extract of it). That way I can see what is happening.

I really don't know why the axis label appears to be offset, however, try adjusting the Gap Width.

To do this, right click on the bar(s) and then Click on the Format Data Series option. Move the arrow toward No Gap. If you go as low a 0%, all the bars will touch, but id you set it at about 20%, you will see that most of the space is filled, and it looks a lot better.

I would also be inclined to put the legend at the bottom, but that's just me! I think is looks better, but thousands of people will disagree!

Thanks for letting me know on the Tinypic concerns. Apologies, if that has been a trouble.

I worked based upon the inputs shared by you. The result is can be found in the attached excel. The issue unfortunately still persists and I hope we can find a solution
