Excel 2007 : predictive text in drop down list

Hi frnds,

I am new to excel coding.

hello, I have created a drop down list with a list of customer names set into the cell. I want to be able to start typing the customer name and for excel to predict the customer i am after. For example if i was after customer ABCDEF i could type AB and excel would narrow down the selection as i type more letters so i can simply press enter to move on once the correct customer is predicted.

From the Developer Tab -> Controls -> Insert choose ActiveX Combobox & place it on the sheet.
Select the control on the sheet, click Properties & scroll down to find ListFillRange & type the address of the list.

Thanks for u r reply it almost(70%) ok. But i have small doubt in that. i have list(i.e suresh,pradeep,pranav,prasad,suman,lokesh,lavanya) in sheet1 but i want dispaly combo box with the list(i.e mentioned in sheet1) in sheet2 of column A of total cells.

please help me.

The method that I have outlined will work. Just make sure that you refer to the sheet in the ListFillrange

Thank You for Your reply but i have one doubt (i.e how to pass the selected combo box text value from one sheet to another sheet).

for eg:

In sheet1 i have one combo box in column A (cell A2) i can select one item from the combo box that selected text or value pass to the sheet2 (in sheet2 column A cell A2). same combo box put in cell A3 and select one item that selected value pass to sheet2 in cell A3 and so on....
please help me.

Your last question has nothing to do with the original question or the solution that I provided.

I haven't a clue what you are doing, you can't put a combobox into different cells.

If the predictive test question is solved then mark this thread solved & strt a new thread with the other question & attach an example workbook there
