Lightbulb Display results based on certain categories of users

    Hi

Attached is a spreadsheet I made, with fake data.

Note the "prioritize" tab-- this tab is used to have the user complete a survey (try doing it by selecting "yes" or "no" in column "C" from the combo box drop down menus, then go to the bottom of the tab and see "show results" button- click that button and a new results tab will open up).

That is the background. Now: What I want to do next:

I would like to have certain categories of users, and when the user takes the survey in the prioritize column, they are able to select ONE OR MORE of those categories that apply to them. For example, if you look at the "Categories of animal lovers" tab, you see some fake data I've created, in a table form. For example, note in cell B3 that a category of person who "loves animals" likes cats; Cell A:8 a person who is employed also likes cats, cell A 14 a person who lives in suburbs likes cats, and so forth.

I would like a drop down menu in a new tab (here i've called it "NEW TAB TO BE CREATED") that gives the user the option to select the categories they are- so perhaps they select "divorced, male, hates animals". Then, in the new tab that is created, someone who is is divorced, male, and hates animals will only see the animals that they like.

I hope that description makes sense.

Note: the "backend" tab is where the complete data used in the results tab is stored. If there is a way to incorporate the category into that tab somehow, that would be great---or any other way that works is good too :-)

What are people's ideas as to the best way to accomplish this goal?

    Thanks!!

Listing only the options that the user qualifies for is very possible, but I didn't see anywhere in the workbook that was capturing the user categories. Do you intend to have the user fill out this information somewhere?

Re: Display results based on certain categories of users

Hi, I made a new spreadsheet with checkboxes that the user will select their responses from. I have attached that spreadsheet. I think I will want to use a button like the "show results" button from the "prioritize" tab, except customized to fit the results from the "checkbox" tab. So for example, if the person selects they are male, married, and likes coffee, the animals associated with the demographic categories of "male," "married" and "likes coffee" will be displayed along with the data associated with those animals (the exact same headings as in the last yellow "results" tab). These headings/this data came from the "backend" tab. The "backend" tab is also where I've stored the info as to what demographic groups like what animals. Hope this makes sense
