Conditional Formatting to Do Merge and Center

    Hi Experts,

I have a row in which data will look something like below -

    Actual 0 0 0 0 Budget 0 0 0 0 Forecast 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0

I want to merge all the cells for acutals, budget and forecast. So, first 5 cells Actuals followed by 4 zeros should be merged with value Actual. Next 5 as Budget and remaining ones as Forecast.

This needs to be dynamic i.e. Merge Actual with all the subsequent cells untily you hit budget..then merge budget until you hit forecast..and similarly merge forecast until you hit a non-zero value.

Please let me know how this can be achieved.

    Regards,
    Ashish

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.

I'm not sure I fully understand your query.

Using your example, my understanding is that when July 1st hits, you would like the Actuals cell (D10) to automiatically stretch across to include the I:I data?

    Ok..let me explain a bit further -

Please see the revised workbook attached.

Now, row # 10 is actually populated based on some formulae depending on what month I am in. So, currently you see 5 months' actual, 4 months' budget and 3 months' forecast. When we move to next month, you may see 5 months' actual, 2 months' budget and 5 months' forecast.

So, that way, row # 10 is dynamic. Now, what I want is that all actuals should be merged and centered, all budgets merged and centered, all forecasts be merged and center.

I am ok to insert a new row just above # 10, which will be row # 9 to display the merged values. I can then hide row #10 in my report.

I hope I make it clear this time.

I believe the best way to solve your problem would be through VBA coding.

Try posting here, in the VBA sub-forum:

Shall I assume macro is the only way to do it?
