Pasting table from PDF into excel

I copied data from a table in a pdf file into excel. It got pasted as a line of text in a single cell per row as expected. I then used Text to Columns to separate the data via delimited spaces. Now when I copy a similar table into the same excel file, the data gets separated into cells, but in a column, not a row.

The first cell is a name, the rest is short alphanumerical data.

How can I get it to be copied as a single cell again so I may use Text to Columns as I did the first time?

Instead of just pasting the data into a cell, click inside the formula bar then paste the data in there. This will force all of the data into a single cell.
