Maybe an Advanced problem, or simple.

(I apologies in advance if this problem is more leaning towards a math problem than excel)

The issue has to do with an object on a line with 4 pass through stations, this object moves back and forth on the line. The major problem I'm having is figuring out how to calculate and display each distance each station is from the moving object.

What should I be looking into to solve this, and also could excel handle something like this?

(I've included a picture to better visualize the problem)

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to make it clear what is needed. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are demonstrated, mock them up manually if needed. Remember to desensitize the data.

So as I've stated in the original problem but forgot the picture here is the picture.

(The stations are the space in between the yellow boxes)

TO restate again, how do I have four excel boxes(Either rows or columns) change simultaneously as the position of the red moves further and closer to some stations?

What I've done in the excel sheet,'before', I've added nothing in. The 'before' sheet just shows the red dot's position in length to each station as it moves from left to right on the line.

Problem again is to have four independent boxes advance through these value ranges shown in in the 'before' sheet.

The 'After' Sheet is what I did in an attempt to have something progress through these values. I tried a y=mx+b but no success.

I don't understand at all what you're trying to do. Could you provide some context?

    Object on a line? Stations?
