I am setting up an excel exercise journal. What I envision is a macro based filtering system that require very little excel experience in order to fully utilize. With each time an exercise and all its stats are calculated the data would be exported to a data table. For looking at the stats from say Workout 1 Week 1, things like exercises could be counted, total reps summed, intensity averaged and all sorts of things. The problem is there would be a few stats that would apply only to the workout and not the individual exercises. For example, how long the workout lasted and any subjective measurements of the whole workout.
The simple answer is to have these workout specific stats sent to a different database, but then I am not understanding how I could (easily) pull up the number of exercises performed in Workout 1 Week 1 and compare it to the time spent exercising and still maintain a very flexible macro filter system.
A brief description of the macro filter system, I am envisioning it consisting of multiple active X list and combo boxes that allow for the filtering and display of data pulled from the data table.
Thank you for any assistance.
