Filter Date columns by Month

Hello everyone,

I have a spreadsheet that contains many different dates (ie. 1/1/2014, 1/4/2014, 1/5/2014, 5/1/2014, 5/2,2014 etc)

I want to find a way to filter it by MULTIPLE months. Such as "January", and "May" etc.

Is this possible? and if so any ideas? I know how to sort it by ONE month, such as JUST "January" or JUST "may", but not both.

If this is just an adhoc thing you need to do then put the equation "=MONTH(<whatever cell your date is in>)" in the column next to your data. Then filter based on the number.

If the dates are proper Excel recognizable dates in a column, click in the column then click on the Data tab, Filter. Clear the Select All and select only the months that you want. If you want specific dates within the month click on the + beside the month name and select the dates that you want. If you just want the months, don't expand the months for selection. Just select the months.

No formulae are required for this.
