    Conditional Formatting

New problem with my worksheet. My boss wants a specific color while conditionally formatting the sheet. About the only person that stays in one spot is the Site Manager, all the others could move around the sheet or be on another sheet all together. I want to use the colors that are presently on the sheet to say if Martin Rickert is on A24 then it would be the same color blue from there to R24 and 25. Thanks for all the help so far. Thanks

What you need to do is create a single cell full of these CF rules so that you can copy/paste special>Formatting over any location that the names will fall in.

With the name in A1 on another sheet create the CF with the following code (Multiple times)

you will need to do this 12 times to cover all the employees you currently have, 18 for the amount of slots you have available.

    This being your first...

    This being your last

Now the above code requires the name appear in the A column, so you may need to add a helper column that pulls the name into the A column on each sheet.

For instance if you were on Safety 1, Insert a column so you have a new A column.

Now put this inside of A7 next to Employee Name

Drag the formula to the end of the list...
Now the CF will have a name to base its overall formatting on.

Of course keep your other logic built in there that is specific to the cell being formatted
Format only cells that contain - Specific Text - OFF to have a White fill
Format only cells that contain - Cell Value - Equal to - 0

The last part of this is that you have custom colors... If you are going to make sure they are exactly as they are now... then you will need to map out the RGB's - I can do this quickly in fact here it is by name... personally I would utilize the presets as there are plenty of options, but these will allow you to key in the existing colors you created -

    Baumgardner, Deryl R=255, G=192, B=0
    Brown, Richard R=204, G=192, B=218
    Cabrailes, Marleen R=221, G=217, B=196
    Cummings, Peggy R=242, G=220, B=219
    Gray, Gary R=197, G=217, B=241
    Hill, Carolyn R=230, G=184, B=183
    Hilton, Jewel R=253, G=233, B=217
    Huitt, Cherrie R=217, G=217, B=217
    Long, Pamela R=216, G=228, B=188
    Newborn, Rufus R=255, G=255, B=0
    Ocampo, Joe R=146, G=208, B=80
    Rickert, Martin R=183, G=222, B=232

    Re: Conditional Formatting

Thank you, I got most of it done thanks to you. Now the last part I am not understanding. Do I make a CF for all of those? Or how do I enter them?
