Cannot insert object

Hi All

I have been using excel 2007 for a number of years now, and occasionally I insert Active X controls onto my worksheet,
but recently, and I could say about a week ago, inserting an Active X control, eg. a command button, comes up with the message
'Cannot insert object', the worksheet is unprotected, and I have checked the references for anything 'missing',

has anyone else experience this problem?

This ha been a problem since the last microsoft update.

Easily solved apparently.
