Counting times and interpreting data

Hi!

I'm supposed to make a spreadsheet where one selects an item from a drop-down menu and then clicks on a button to 'start' when they start handling that item and 'finish' when they're done with it. These items are dealt with at various moments during the day. At the end of the day the average, maximum and minimum times have to be calculated. How can this be done, as easily as possible?

There is very little information that you have given to go on. With that said, it sounds like you're looking to log check-in/out times for unique items so that you can sort how long each items was used.

I recommend checking researching data entry through a custom user form. Without any more to go on, I'm afraid we can't be of much help. If you have an idea of how you want to handle it but aren't sure how to get there, please put together a sample spreadsheet with the data and how you want it to look and some of us may be able to point you down the right path.
