"image" blocking a cell

I have a spreadsheet with some drop down menus in it. But the most recent time that I opened it, there is an "image" that look like a drop down menu (this is the best way I can describe it) that seems to be blocking the cell where the drop down menu used to be. I can get to the cell by clicking on a cell beside it and moving into that box with the arrows on the keyboard, but if I click on the cell, it will just give me the 4 arrows like I should be able to move the "image," but I can't. If I do get into the cell, I can type in it and everything just fine and it will change the value in the cell, but I cannot see this change as the cell is being blocked by this "image." Has anybody seen anything like this before? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

We actually were able to get rid of the image and just recreate the drop down menus. We got rid of it by going to the "Developer" tab and clicking on "Design Mode." This allowed us to select the image and delete it. I appreciate you taking the time to look at my post! If you have any insight about how that could have happened, that might be helpful for the future though. Thanks.
