Merge relational pricing data from seperate csv sheets

I have two csv sheets, the first one contains part number (and a lot of other info) The part number column "S" contains many duplicates. (about 15000 rows) My second sheet contains part numbers in column "A" and pricing in column "B" (about 5000 rows)

I need to merge in the pricing on the first sheet based on the key cells of part number. I am new to excel If you can point me in the right direction that would be great! Thanks

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

OP Sighs! I have tried a lot of things here and that I have watched on youtube. Nothing has worked. I was hoping there was a simple excel based way to do this. If not I will need to build a database and upload both files and then download the combination. Thanks for your response. I guess I have a full day of SQL to look forward to,

In order for Excel to use CSV files, load both of them into an Excel workbook, so that they will "take on" Excel's formatting of rows and columns. After that it is likely a matter of using a lookup of one kind or another to accomplish what you want. Have Excel open each file separately then copy the one of the files into the other so that all the data is in one workbook.....it is easier to work with if you are dealing only with one workbook.

When you have done that, upload the workbook with explicit instructions as to what you want.

Just curious. The sheet one has all the info I need to make my upload file. Sheet two has all the pricing. Both have the part numbers (common key) If I sent you both files what would you charge me to put them together? Email me if interested and I can give you my number. or just do it through ppal I don't want to go against forum rules so if this does let me know and I will delete the post. lenpilot at yahoo

The problem on the surface doesn't seem to be very complex. Your description leads me to believe that this is a case of using a lookup of values in one table against another. Seeing a sample would either confirm this or point in another direction.

Upload truly representative samples if you can, stripped of any sensitive data.
