Cant insert ActiveX button

OK...

I inserted a form control button and it works great.

One of the users of the worksheet asked for me to change the colour of the button (He is colour blind and gray is harder for him)

So, I tried to insert an Active X button.. I get the same error every time "Cannot insert object."

Any ideas?

Perceived wisdom says find and delete all the .exd files in the %Temp% folder and its sub-folders. When I asked Windows to search for them, it didn't find any.

So, that didn't work for me. I deleted everything (that I could) in the %Temp% folder. I let it all go to the Recycle bin, just in case but, so far, I have had no need to recover anything.

I later discovered that the .exd files have file attributes A and I for Archive and Not Indexed. The latter is the important one and is why I couldn't find the files when I searched for them.

You'll find them in the Excel and VBA folders in the %Temp% directory.
