How to set column width to default

How do I change the width of a column to the default column width (8.43 regularly)? Clicking Cells>Format>Default Width... does not do it, it just lets you change the default value. What I want to do is change a width to the default with just a click of the button instead of clicking Cells>Format>Column Width... and having to enter a value. I don't see the point of even having a default width if you cannot do this. Thanks for your help.

    Hi Stebobido,

You can drag the column width and change it manually: place the arrow next the to the column letter. When you see 2 arrows <--|-->, you can adjust the column width.
You can select multiple columns and when you'll drag the width, they will all change to the same width.

Other solution is to use a macro. You could have this macro in a personal workbook and assign a keyboard shortcut to it...

Is that really the only way to do it?
What is the point of a default column width then?

Re: How to set column width to default

I found a way to copy column widths, which is a little bit quicker than doing it the other way.
This link has the details under "match the column width to another column" https://support.office.com/en-ca/art...mmatchcolwidth
