Keyboard shortcut for the "enter" command

When typing in a cell, the toolpanel is greyed out. Clicking the checkmark beside the textbar allows you to use the toolbar again. Is there a keyboard shortcut for this command? It is something I would be using all the time and would save me lots of time. Right now I am pressing "enter" on the keyboard, but that takes my cursor off of the cell I was working on. I have included a screenshot if you don't understand what I am talking about.

Brilliant, thanks! Now, is there a way to edit shortcuts in Excel? For instance, changing this shortcut to "ctrl + d"?

Ctrl+Enter enters the same thing (whatever is in the formula bar) across the entire selection. Just Enter is all you usually need, which is as short as it gets.

Most short-cut keys/key combos are hard-coded and I dont think they can be changed. Check out this list for a fairly comprehensive list of short-cut keys...

I'm not 100% sure but I think you can do this only in XL 2013. Not 2010.

Thanks everyone for your imput. The consensus seams to be that short-cut keys can't be changed, at least for Excel 2010.
