Cells with data are blank when spreadsheet opened

I am having a problem when I open a workbook. Most cells not on my screen when the sheet opens appear blank. The cell formatting is there (color, lists, etc.) and when I click some cells (not all) the data appears in the formula bar. Even the row numbers (far left) are missing. If I edit a cell (press F2) all the data in that row will appear when I stop editing the cell (press enter). If I save the workbook as macro enabled, close, and reopen it's fine. No one else around me is having this problem with the same workbooks. I have attached a screen shot. The gray boxes are to protect the innocent.

    Thanks in advance.
