two windows opening whenever I open an excel file

One excel file of mine always opens in two windows whenever I open it. This started happening after I once clicked view>window>New Window. I had wanted to have two windows then, but I don't want to always have two windows when I open the file. Your help is much appreciated!

Did you try to close the second window and save your file? Then open it again.

    Hi,

I found a possible answer on another site. It said:

To resolve this, go to 'excel options' > click on the 'advanced' tab > scroll down to general > check the ignore other applications that use 'Dyanamic Data Exchange (DDE)'

One test is worth a thousand opinions.
