    Wink Earned vacation time formula

I need help coming up with a formula to figure out employee earned vacation time that accrues on the employee anniversary date. I have attached a sample of what I have created so far and it also includes our defined vacation time for years of employment. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Re: Earned vacation time formula

The rules that you have laid out are not exactly clear to me. Does one start earning vacation time from the first day of employment or does 1 year have to pass before the 1 & 2 year rate starts the earning of leave credits? If an employee had exactly 1 year of service and didn't take a single day off, does that employee have 5 days or 0 days as of the anniversary date?

Do you issue credits in advance and can credits be carried over to the next year? For example, does an employee with 2.5 years service (not having taken a day of leave) have 5, 7.5, 10, 12.5 or 15 days?

An employee gets 5 days vacation time at their 1 year anniversary. Employees can only carry over one years worth of leave time. Hopefully that helps. Thank you!

    Re: Earned vacation time formula

I can't say that I fully understand the rules for earning vacation days but this is my best guess. I have broken down the days into "credited" (days advanced but not yet actually earned) and actual earned days. I have shaded the end results for "credited" and "earned" days.
