Is it possible to set a dropdown list to return a default value (Use of VBA?)

I'm trying to figure out how to set my drop down lists to return a default value, from the source of the data validation list..which is a named range that is updated dynamically. The list shows the week numbers, so I would like the most recent week to always be the default value.

So if my dropdown list cell = A14 on Sheet1
and my most recent week cell = R3 on Sheet 2

How could you have the default be the value from R3?

Well, the dropdown list contains all the weeks, and R3 always contains the most recent, but I would still like to have the drop down list of the previous weeks.

R3: Week 3 < the currents stay on top of the named range
    R4: Week 2
    R5: Week 1

If I went onto Week 4 It would become the most recent and so forth.

I need the weeks to be in the list, just have the most recent always be the default of the list, so whenever the document is opened, it would return it. At the same time I would like to be able to select the list and select a previous week if I needed to see it.

The list corresponds to a graph that highlights the current week when selected.
