    SUMIF OR Vlookup

    Hi All,

    P01 P02 P03
    ITEMS >#200 - Aug 07 120.00 500 100
    CAPITAL > 200-AUG12 150.00 71 200
    ITEMS > 200 - FEB 12 1254.00 560 300
    ITEMS >#200 - Dec 13 100.00 600 500
    CAPITAL > 200-AUG12 200.00 954 220
    ITEMS > 200 - FEB 12 11.00 12 111
    1835.00 2697.00 1431.00

I need to create a lookup or sumif that will bring back the totals of the columns P01, P02 etc when the table that I am looking at contains different descriptions eg Items >#200 -Aug 07 or Items #200 - Sep 07. In short I just need to know the total value of everything that contains an entry that has >200, >#200 in the description.

    Can anyone help me please?

    Many thanks

    Suzanne :0)

    Re: SUMIF OR Vlookup

    Using your posted workbook

this formula returns the sum of Col_B items where the corresponding Col_A cell contains "> 200"

and this formula returns the sum of Col_B items where the corresponding Col_A cell contains either "> 200" or ">#200"

Is that something you can work with?

    Re: SUMIF OR Vlookup

    Hi Ron,

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my query. Unfortunately it does not appear to be working (the 2nd form). I keep getting an error message that asks whether I am intentionally typing a formula. The form I have typed in is as follows:

    =SUM(SUMIF($G$9:$G$124,{*> 200*","*>#200*"},$AX$9:$AX$126)

Am I missing a set of brackets or something?

For ref Col G in the form is where the description is and Col AX where the value is that I wish to return the sum of.

    Many thanks!

    Suzanne

    In this formula:

You're missing a quote before the first asterisk.
    Try this:

    Does that help?
