    Spliiting calls equally formula

    Hi,

We will be giving daily call list to 7 agents, and we need to divvy the calls equal. I have attached an example spreadsheet.

On the attached example we would need to populate col D. In this example each agent would need 12.14 calls if rounding is a problem I don’t mind if one person gets a call more or has a call less. The formula to work out the number of calls is in cell L1. Is it possible to build a formula which will show each agent 12 times. The 12 calls would vary day to day.

I hope I explained it properly if not please let me know.

    Thanks

See if something like this would work for you. Paste into D2 and drag down:

You'll have an extra value, but that can be taken care of with another nested IF...it would just make the formula twice as long.

    HI Mcmahobt,

Thanks for getting back to me, hope you had a good weekend.

This formula doesnt seem to work when used in my template attached it just comes back with a #Div/0 error.

I think its something to do with the row funcation

Hmm that's weird. The example file I have saved has data setup differently. Either way, try this formula intead...it is the same formula posted above, just modified to fit the data locations. Also note that it will return an error when the date in M1 is greater than the date in C2 (since L1 will return 0). Since you posted this on the 6th of March, I was working with that date, so if you input 3/6/2015 into M1, you'll get a sense of how it will work.
