I currently use a formula to check a serie of cells and if values in another column match one of the cells from the serie a checkmark (v) is being placed in the cell in front of the matching cell.
=IF(ISERROR(MATCH(B8;$D$2:$D$100;FALSE));"";CHAR(118))
As you can see in the formula, I am checking the values in D2 to D100.
All content of these cells contain directory path's.
if there is a 100% match of a directory path somewhere in D2 to D100 with values in the B column a checkmark is place in the cell the formula is entered.
But hwo can I match these values if the path in the D column matches the path in the B column, although the path in the B column is longer ?
example:
d column: d:\test\source
b column: d:\test\source\subdir1
With the current formula there is no match, but I to have the formula modified that is sees this as a match.
the whole path in the D column is also listed in the B column, only there is some more content behind it.
