How to post displayed value in one cell as the value of another cell

I need to copy a displayed number from one cell to another. In other words, cell a1 is 1.299992354. it's format displays 1.3. I would like cell c1 to equal 1.3, not 1.299992354 displayed as 1.3. I need the displayed number (1.3) from cell a1 to posted as 1.3 in c1. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

That would normally work, but the worksheet has many values in column a that would need to be posted in column c. Some are 1 decimal, some are 2, some are 3, etc. It would be great if I could just post whatever the dispayed number is in column A as the actual value of cells in column A.

    When you say 1 2 or 3 decimal, do you mean x.xxxxx, xx.xxxxx, xxx.xxxxxx?

Yes. The numbers in A could be rounded to 2.865 or 21.1 or 1.22 or any number. I would need the numbers in C to match the rounded numbers in A.

I get what you are saying, but not quite sure how to get there.

This might be able to be done with VBA. I don't know of a method with worksheet functions to copy the format as well as the content of a cell.
