Cell formatted as OLE_Link and won't allow me to change format

I have tried to clear the format. I have used the format painter from a cell that has the formatting I want, however it still shows OLE_Link and won't allow me to type within the cell. I have checked the connections and there is no link to edit. What else could be causing this? How do I remove the OLE_link?

Re: Cell formatted as OLE_Link and won't allow me to change format

Hello, I was having the same issue and Google brought me to your thread. Unfortunately, there was no answer! So, I poked around a bit and was able to figure it out. I am posting an answer here in case anyone else encounters this issue, or in case it is still troubling you and you would like to fix it. I am using Excel 2013, so the instructions may be a bit different for 2007 or 2010. However, this should give you the general idea. 1. Click Formulas tab on the ribbon. 2. Click Name Manager. 3. Click to select the OLE_LINK you want to remove. 4. Click Delete button above. 5. It will ask Are you sure you want to delete? Click OK. 6. Click Close.
