    LEFT of a date

    Hi,

Trying to get this formula to work

Please Login or Register to view this content.
When I look at the date, it is returning 42038 instead of 03/02/2015, so the formula is looking for 42 instead of 03.

I know that you can use the DAY function, but I don't think this works for a range.

    Any suggestions?

    Many thanks in advance.

    DAY will work for range

    Formula: copy to clipboard

Only, when using SUMPRODUCT I would suggest to use limited range. Not whole column.

Then some of your dates is not a date.

    Post example workbook.

    Re: LEFT of a date

As I said - your value in D1 is text. Can't extract DAY from that.

    Use from 2nd row:

    Formula: copy to clipboard
