Not able to Lock formula Cells

    Hi All,

    Please see below attached file.
not able to lock formula cells.xlsx

The worksheet is locked without password.

Locking works on all cells except the formula range B9:G10

In fact, that is the main thing I need to keep protected. I tried a lot but even after I protect the sheet, I am able to change that range.

Can anybody please tell me what I am missing here?

    Thanks,
    Tejas

Re: Not able to Lock formula Cells

Doesn't seem to be a problem with the file. First, unprotect the sheet. Then set ALL cells to be LOCKED. Then set any cells where the user will input data to be UNLOCKED (remove the tick). Then Protect the worksheet (with or without a password. Deselect (untick) "Select locked cells"

    See the updated example.

Re: Not able to Lock formula Cells

    Hi TMS, Alkey

I can see in your file I am not even able to select the locked Cells.
I want user to be able to select the locked cells. So if I keep the 1st two check boxes checked, the range B9:G10 becomes editable as well.

    hope that makes sense.

    Thanks.

Re: Not able to Lock formula Cells

With regard to being able to select locked cells, tick the box.

    However, you have ...

    Allow users to Edit Ranges:

    Title: Range1_1.....Refers to: =$B$9:$O$10
    Title: Range2........Refers to: =$B$7
    Title: Range8........Refers to: =$C$6

All with no password. That over-rides the "standard" sheet protection. Not sure what you want to do about that.
