Press a Button to Show They Have Read and When

Hi Guys,

I am looking for a solution for a shared excel sheet I am using with my security officers.

Basically, it is an information handover which multiple officers will use to obtain daily handovers within the team and management.

I would like there to be a cell for each new information and a button in it which they press and displays the date and time, so as to show when they became aware of the new information.

I dont like the idea of CTRL and semi colon stuff, is there just a click button that inputs this and displays the date time?

Would something like the attached file work?

You will need to make sure that you enable iterative calculations because there is a circular reference in the formula (File -> Options -> Formulas -> Enable iterative calculation).

It basically posts a timestamp using the Now() function once "Read" is selected from the dropdown list in column B. You could also have the user manually input text into column B, but the current setup has more of the "button" feel you were going for.
